Job Description
Structural mechanical engineer is primarily responsible for design changes and alterations of aircraft structures that are safe and capable of withstand the operational and emergency loads to which they are exposed and complies with applicable norms and regulations in the field of Design Assurance System, environmental health and safety, security.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Keep Design Assurance System in the design changes to aircraft, aircraft components and appliances in accordance with Design Organization Handbook.
  • Provide technical and feasibility studies including site investigations. Assess the suitability and environmental impact of type design change.
  • Using CAD to develop the safe, economic and functioning design ideas reliable throughout its intended environment and lifetime.
  • Prepare test procedures, certification and verification plans in scope of her/his qualification, compliance data and reports, designs and drawings.
  • Make calculations about loads and stresses, and weight and center of gravity of the aircraft.
  • Use computer-aided design, mathematical models and other computer software to formulate, analyze and create compliance data.
  • Select appropriate construction materials and technological procedures.
  • Provide technical advice.
  • Manage production of the mechanical parts and appliances.
  • Prepare material and equipment specification.
  • Ensure that structural changes at type design run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
Skills and Experience
  • Fluent Czech and English.
  • University Education (Technical – Mechanical, Aircraft)
  • Having knowledge of applicable regulations and norms.
  • Knowledge in aircraft design, aerodynamics, mechanics and maintenance.
