Business Continuity Planning Specialist

Overview:

A top level contributor that acts independently with minimal direction and is responsible for providing leadership in the area of business continuity. Provides business continuity support and solutions to internal and external clients. Provides technical and business services on projects of moderate to complex scope. Defines and documents standards, implementation plans and operational procedures.

Skills Summary:

Assess threats to the MST Continuity of Business and develop cost effective and efficient responses.
Continue to develop effective and time saving methods to manage disaster recovery exercises and real-time events.
Minimum of 15 years IT experience in mainframe operations and or programming support.
Minimum of 5 years IT experience in Network operations.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business continuity planning.
Minimum of a Certification in Business Continuity Planning.
Minimum of 10 years of retail systems experience.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, And Visio.
General knowledge of retail systems and understanding of criticality and impact to operations.
General knowledge of the retail environment.
Bachelor's Degree (IT) preferred and 8-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Decision Making:

Recommend actions to mitigate threats to MST IT Continuity of Operations.
Evaluate, recommend, final authority on “Best Practices” for MST IT Continuity of Operations.
Participate in Corporate-wide business continuity projects and advise senior management on direction and process.
Lead role in activation of the EOC and alternate work site.
Provide tactical and strategic planning and direction for technical business continuity across the Macy’s enterprise.
Provide business and technical guidance to senior management and executive staff.

Key Accountability:

Manage the business continuity planning and update process.
Manage the annual physical and tabletop business continuity exercises.
Manage the annual business continuity internal audit process.
Manage the development of new business continuity tools and processes.
Manage strategic business partners to ensure that the division’s business continuity needs are supported.
