Directs system performance analysis and tuning efforts across the enterprise. Leads the Infrastructure team in the selection of New Technology, Automation and Cloud Strategy. Guides application teams in regard to infrastructure and database design. Mentors and coaches Development and IFS teams to improve stability and performance of MST systems.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with all business partners to gain consensus on solutions and recommendations.
Evaluates and challenges new technology requests for their appropriateness and fit for the problem being solved.
Directs system performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning efforts across the enterprise.
Provides a service to the application teams with regard to automation, infrastructure and database design.
Mentors and coaches IFS teams to improve stability and performance of all IT systems.
Stays abreast of emerging technologies and acts as an advisor to management teams.
Lead Infrastructure design and review of new systems and technology.
Decision Making:
New technology purchases; decisions on performance and stability issues with Development, IFS and vendor teams.
Significantly influential in decisions involving Infrastructure technology strategy and roadmap as well as setting a strategy for Automation and Cloud Computing.
Skills Summary:
Must have strong skills to persuade and influence teams to adapt/change techniques and drive Infrastructure technology strategy for 2-3 years in the future.
Work closely with all IT teams to form a collaborative partnership that is decisive and gets things done.
5 years of experience in application development.
10 years of experience in operations and operations support
Experience with the ITIL operations framework; experience creating a new organization
Experience defining the vision and building the plan to implement a significant new function.
Experience in Microsoft Office 365.
Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Cloud Computing, hardware, software, networks, database, eCommerce and applications.
Advanced knowledge of system software (Windows, multiple versions of UNIX, Linux, .COM, and IBM mainframe).
Advanced knowledge of operations management support tools.
Advanced knowledge of middleware (MQ series, Tibco, Golden Gate and other synchronous and asynchronous middleware).
Intermediate knowledge of application architecture.
Intermediate knowledge of technical security and infrastructure security software.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in a Technology related field. 10 years of experience working in an IT Infrastructure environment.
Exceptional communication skills and partnership building with several key teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Directs enterprise-wide large scale projects of significant scale and impact. Requires strategic thinking of all tools & technologies in market to provide best user experience.
