Job Overview:

 

As a Wedding & Gift Registry Manager you will be responsible for driving My Macy’s Initiatives, Omni Channel Strategies and MAGIC Selling by supervising all daily activities in the Wedding and Gift Registry area. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Functions:

Sales

  • Drive and exceed sales goals by training and developing team of Associates and Executives 
  • Deliver on the Focus-on-Five metrics by increasing Registry service scores, enrollment numbers, quality Registrations, and driving Registry sales 
  • Identify key Registry items, assortments and sales-driving opportunities; work with District Merchant and Planning teams to support My Macy’s
  • Partner with Regional Gift Registry Executive and store team to plan and execute internal and external Registry events
  • Provide leadership and direction to drive execution of Home Store promotional events
  • Drive and exceed sales goals by developing strategies and leading Gift Registry Consultants

Customer

  • Review individual Selling Metrics with Gift Registry Consultants – provide recognition; develop and communicate strategies to improve results
  • Ensure optimum Wedding and Gift Registry coverage
  • Train Gift Registry Consultants on selling skills, selling capabilities and product knowledge via daily one-on-one coaching
  • Develop an understanding of the local Gift Registry customer (both gift giver and Registering couple), and promote customer-specific aspiration products

People 

  • Recruit, hire, on-board and train a team of business driven and customer savvy consultants..  Role Model Magic Selling behaviors
  • Educate Home Store Associate population on Registry business, completion process, and key business drivers in partner stores without dedicated Gift Registry Consultants Train-the-Trainer to communicate Gift Registry business needs to Home Store Associate population In partners stores with consultants,
  • Manage performance of Gift Registry Consultants; celebrate success and address areas of opportunities  
  • Utilize structured and unstructured touch bases, including annual and Mid-Year Merit Review, responsibility based performance, and Gift Registry Scorecard to coach to outstanding service
  • Partner with Regional Gift Registry Executive on structured training calendar and content for all stores in district to support Gift Registry Supervisor, consultants, Home Store SMs, and Associates

  • Facilitate “on-the-floor” or on-line trainings (webinar, conference calls, etc) on product knowledge, Registry completion best practices, and new technology

  • On board new hired Gift Registry Supervisors, Consultants, and Table Top Sales Managers 

  • Ensure consultants understand and utilize communication and training tools including GRO, Lotus Notes, H.O.T., ACT, webinars and Down the Aisle; ensure Home Store Executives and Associates are proficient on Macy’s systems

  • Create a positive, engaging and inclusive work environment resulting in retention of the best people and turnover reduction 

  • Address Gift Registry Consultant concerns in a reasonable and fair manner, consistent with the values expected by the Company

Ensure that all procedures, policies and shortage programs are understood and executed by Gift Registry Consultants

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in home décor, interior design and/or home lifestyle fashion trends and related etiquette – a home brand/product advocate.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.                                     

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Other Skills:

  • Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills. Experienced leader, facilitator and mentor, able to train one-on-one and in classroom setting; in-person, and remotely. Demonstrates strong computer skills and proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Web). Embraces change in technology – Tech savvy, mobile and new media awareness. Independent business owner drive and mentality. Passionate and enthusiastic about registered couples, wedding planning and entertaining.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
