SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Diversified Brands Sales Service Rep Trainee Program is designed to provide you with the skills necessary for a successful career in outside sales. The Program includes 6 weeks of self-study modules, structured on-the-job training, as well as ongoing education throughout your career. Some training topics include: product knowledge, selling techniques, customer service and merchandising management.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The purpose of the Trainee position is to prepare you for a role as a Sales Service Representative.  This role will require you to grow top lines sales at assigned home improvement stores within a geographic territory through implementing sales/market programs, training activities, service and merchandising responsibilities. The store count will range based on geography and store volume. This role will conduct product knowledge (PK) training sessions for current and newly hired home improvement associates. Training should include features, benefits as well as selling skills and may include a demo of the products. Respond to and resolve product/service/inventory issues at the store level. Utilize the CRM system to document sales calls and store visits. Sales Representatives will also gather and document competitor intelligence information in the CRM. Ability to conduct product demos to support selling process.

As a Diversified Brands sales professional you will have the opportunity to drive sales, and grow your territory and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.  You will learn a wide variety of selling related skills including planning and conducting effective sales calls, identifying and exceeding customer needs and sales opportunities, inventory systems knowledge, management, expense management, as well as promotional selling and basic marketing.
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in business related field.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without now, or in the future, requiring sponsorship for work visa or permanent residence status.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work independently, demonstrated planning and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to follow up appropriately with customer telephone inquiries and orders.
• Prefer experience in a customer service or sales oriented position. 
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule which includes evenings and weekends
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.  

• Must have a valid drivers license


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present and hearing protection is required.
Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
