Creating effective finance solutions is a critical part of Macy’s success, and we’re looking for team members to be a part of that success. The HFA (Human Resources, Finance, and Associate systems) business unit is responsible for the systems and processes that support Macy's finance functions for our corporate headquarters and all associated divisions that operate under the Macy's banner. The Finance team is responsible for a new suite of financial applications that support financial planning, all non-merchandise purchasing and payment activities, the corporate ledger and all associated internal & external financial reporting. These innovative, high-transaction volume and complex systems serve to support the critical finance operations of Macy's Inc.
Macy’s Systems & Technology is seeking a Purchasing Analyst II. Under general supervision and with minimal assistance from Supervisor, researches, develops, implements, monitors and negotiates “Best Value” purchasing programs for assigned supplies, equipment, furniture, fixtures and services. Completes bids, summaries and contracts as needed. Creates purchase orders, handles RFQ's, follows up and approves financial discrepancies and open PO's.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reviews Purchase Requests for adequate specifications and required approvals.
- Evaluates competitive offerings to determine the overall best value for a product/service, using appropriate value/price analysis.
- Identifies and/or selects potential sources of products or services and solicits competitive bids with accurate specifications, terms and conditions.
- Develops and manages effective internal relationships with users and other customers through internal marketing, customer service, consistent improvement of cycle times for requisitions and purchase orders.
- Bids out equipment for disposal or sale to vendors. Selects best deal and submits to manager for approval. Completes sales contracts.
- Disposes of equipment with no resale value. Works with IFS and vendors to find lowest cost solution to dispose of and completes disposal contracts.
Decision Making:
- Subject matter expert on MST's purchasing system.
- Handles bids for sale of equipment and completes contracts and awards to vendors.
- Makes final vendor selections on orders of lower financial impact and recommendations on higher financial impact orders to Manager for final approval and decision making.
Skill Summary:
- Experience with Adobe Echosign and Oracle EBusiness Suites preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Macy's purchasing and accounting policy & strong understanding of Macy's systems. Needs good verbal and written communications & strong analytical skills. It takes 6 months to 1 year to become fully competent.
- Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Mmat, ProcureIT, FirstChoice.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and 2 to 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
