Job Overview:

 

Macy's Logistics is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst Reporting to the Finance Manager this individual will be a key point of contact for providing financial reporting, planning and analysis. In addition to the monthly FP&A, the Financial Analyst will be called upon to utilize a high level of proficiency in systems and databases to create queries and ad-hoc reports for senior management.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Assist with the creation of Annual Financial Plans by 
    • Developing non payroll budgets based on units and/or monthly charges
    • Update detailed planning models and templates
    • Load plan data into budget templates
  • Assist in preparation of weekly ROF
    • Maintain daily payroll tracking
    • Monitor open to spend for non-payroll expenditures
    • Complete ROF template 
  • Assist with month end close
    • Prepare and enter accruals
    • Balance BTR results with ROF
  • Analyze, identify and assist in the resolution of expense issues and opportunities
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and other periodic financial reporting packages.
  • Prepare/create adhoc financial reports, modeling and projections to support business decisions using Excel, MS Access, and WMS
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives for the FP&A function.
  • Assist leadership in meeting all financial commitments and goals.
  • Flexible, team player, willing to work extra hours when necessary.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • College Degree in accounting/Finance preferred or 1 to 2 years FP&A experience

Communication Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers and all levels of management Demonstrate an energetic and positive attitude, strong communication and Interpersonal skills

Reasoning Ability

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values.

Other Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Proven history of thriving in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. 
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior System skills including Excel, MS Access and reporting tools. 
  • Creative and innovative thought process.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of FedBTR, Oracle and Macy's mainframe applications a plus

Work Hours

  • Monday-Friday (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
