Position Title: Financial Analyst, Fixed Assets
Reports to: Senior Manager, Fixed Assets
Location: Home Office – New Albany, Ohio*LI-JK1
 
Abercrombie & Fitch is seeking a talented Analyst to join our Fixed Asset Accounting team. The Fixed Asset Accounting team is responsible for the assets of all company brands (Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie kids and Hollister) worldwide. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated and statutory financial statements
  • Work closely with internal business partners to drive project closures timely and ensure accurate recording of useful lives and depreciation
  • Assist in the implementation/on-going record keeping related to the accounting guidance surrounding the new lease accounting standard (ASC 842)
  • Create and maintain financial analytics for balance sheet and P&L accounts based on historical data and recent trends
  • Formulate actionable insights and solutions to key challenges and present proposals to senior management in a concise and thoughtful manner
  • Play a key role in the development, preparation and consolidation of semi-annual budgets and monthly forecasts by working closely with cross-functional partners
  • Provide insight and analysis of financial results to explain variances and make educated adjustments to budgets, models and forecasts
  • Maintain an effective control environment and ensure proper application of US GAAP
  • Identify strategic opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings
  • Independently drive department related projects to conclusion through collaboration with other teams in the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or other business/analytical major
  • 2-4 years of industry and/or public accounting experience (preferably fixed asset related)
  • Preferred experience with PeopleSoft Finance or equivalent system, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinking, positive team player who is eager to learn, responsive and flexible to changing business conditions
  • The successful candidate will have; outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking skills, experience with global operations, excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organizations, pride in ownership, enthusiasm, comfort with change, and a willingness to learn
