Electrical Mechanical Tech, FT, 3rd Shift (M-F 11P- 7\\:30A)

Staples - Lithia Springs, GA

1. Perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries
2. Perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on conveyors
3. Perform general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repair and second level gates, doors, etc.  Performs light plumbing maintenance on occasion
4. Perform various carpentry assignments as needed
5. Ability to work at heights
6. Use personal vehicle to pick up parts and equipment
7. Regular attendance
8. Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner
9. Relay directions from supervisor to junior technicians and assistants
10. Use initiative to ensure efficient assignments of junior technicians/assistants to projects/tasks
11. Order needed repair parts for equipment with supervisor’s approval
12. Work safely and in accordance with Staples safety policies

Basic

• High school education or equivalent; trade school background preferred
• Approximately 2 years of related experience
• Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills
• Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints/schematics
• Material handling equipment certification

 

Work Conditions

 

Physical Conditions:

• Work at heights up to 20 feet
• Work in hot environment of approximately 95^o F in upper levels during summer
• Work in cold environment of approximately 10^o F outside during winter months
• Exposure to fumes from welding
• Exposure to dust from grinding
• Exposure to vibration from power tools
• Exposure to hot surfaces after welding

 

Chemical Conditions:

• Lubricants
• Battery acid
