Job Summary:

As a Proactive Account Consultant, you will be responsible for positioning yourself as a sales team support member, driving increased category-specific awareness and sales over the internet and phone by proactively calling customers who trigger a call prompt by meeting certain criteria on StaplesAdvantage.com.

• Proactively making outbound calls for specific category products based on customer activity and assisting customers with category/product-specific questions and associated sales transactions.
• Participate in category-specific sales training (e.g. Furniture, Technology, Facilities)
• Responsible for participating in all Company objectives and team activities

Impact on Business:
• Position will drive incremental, profitable sales into customer accounts from specific categories through proactive customer phone calls
• Position will also help to secure and strengthen the account's relationship with Staples Advantage, ensuring a high level of proactive customer service to meet customer's category needs.

Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED
• Proven self-starter with energy and motivation to assist with uncovering, developing and closing sales
• Must be results-oriented and driven by both financial and career opportunities
• Demonstrated strong time management skills
• Strong relationship building skills
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of products, pricing, and competition in sales objectives
• Ability to sell company values and services, in addition to program features and benefits via phone and internet
• Ability to communicate effectively to multiple buyer levels within Mid-Market and Commercial Contract-sized customers
• Adaptable to a fast-paced organization that changes to continuously improve the customer's experience

Preferred Requirements:
• College Degree
• 1-3 years successful sales experience or specialist category sales experience
