The Plant Quality Manager leads the Plant quality effort to ensure the continuous improvement of quality results. This position creates and manages processes, training, standards, and goals to provide increasing capability of the site to deliver quality results. This role provides leadership through the introduction and implementation of new formulas, technology, quality tools and manufacturing processes.  The Plant Quality Manager is also responsible for driving the achievement of quality goals and adherence to quality standards, policies and guidelines. This position investigates problem batches to discern root cause and develop sustainable solutions and actively participates in Region and Division quality improvement efforts.

Major tasks include:
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives of Plant quality processes and procedures to improve quality results and meet or exceed quality standards.
• Ensures quality procedures and standards are followed and met.
• Work closely with Operations Manager to standardize and support quality work practices and procedures.
• Manages new formula introduction.
• Implements new processes, quality tools, and improved procedures.
• Works closely with Manufacturing Quality and Technology to identify priorities, develop effective quality tools, and solve quality problems.
• Works closely with Regional Technical Director on quality improvement, complaint resolution, and introduction of new formulas into manufacturing.
• Responsible for the management and development of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, Chemist and Lab Technicians.  

Basic Qualifications: 
• Must be at least 18 years of age 
• Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status
• Must have a four year Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or eight years of work experience
• Must have at least five years experience in R&D, Product Development, Quality Assurance or Operations

Other Qualifications: 
• A degree in Chemistry or Engineering is preferred
• At least five years of supervisory experience is preferred
• Experience with Quality testing and Quality systems management (such as ISO 9001, etc.) is preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred
• Technical management experience in a manufacturing or R&D setting is preferred
• Experience in a multi-shift operation is preferred
• A working understanding of the Sherwin-Williams quality systems and initiatives is preferred
• Must have the ability to see color with or without reasonable accommodation 
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong leadership, decision making, analytical and organizational skills
• Root cause analysis/problem solving skills
• Strong planning and organizing skills
