Key Accountabilities:
- Takes the lead to develop the strategy and technical design for large work type 2 and 3 projects. Defines timelines and project plans; analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved.
- Leads the coding/configuration, testing, implementation and documentation of solution. Develops detailed design specifications.
- Performs complex applications programming activities. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, maintains, and modifies complex applications programs.
- Establishes systems to monitor the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides (or arranges for) proactive maintenance.
- Leads the resolution of customer inquiries.
- Serves as a coach and mentor to more junior developers. Delegates tasks as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Leads the development phase of large work type 2 and work type 3 projects, making work assignments and holding staff accountable.
- Oversees the selection of tools and methodologies for projects.
- Commits to overall deliverables with customers and/or management.
- Provides recommendations on vendor selection. Negotiates terms and conditions with vendors.
- Supports the evaluation and recommendation of new technical directions and approaches to senior MST management.
Skills Summary:
- Manage & Communicate project goals,schedule, status, risks/issues to all involved team members and stakeholders on a timely fashion.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- 3 years Release Management Experience in Continuous Delivery/DevOps environment
- 3 years Release Engineering/Configuration Management or Change Control Experience in Continuous Delivery/DevOps environments
- 3 years Program/Project Management Experience
- Experience implementing or using Continuous Delivery/DevOps methodologies
- Lifecycle and Workflow automation understanding and familiarity with engines such as ElectricCommander, OpenMake, etc.
- Deployment automation understanding and experience with systems such as uDeploy, JBoss ON, AnthillPro, etc.
- Infrastructure automation experience
- Experience in UNIX/Linux Release Engineering role, including
- Web server technologies (Websphere/JBoss preferred)
- Supporting Agile software development teams
- Isolating build/deployment issues versus code/cfg/data issues
