Job Duties:
- Manage the development, administration, and communication of all company-wide benefit programs, including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Life, Short and Long Term Disability, EAP, COBRA, 401(k), Deferred Compensation, and Restricted Stock plans, and to manage the development, administration, and communication of the Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation programs.
- Assist Executive Management in developing the execution plan for large scale roll-outs of new programs affecting all associates nationally, and drive the plans to completion by working with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party administrators, to develop objectives and roll-out strategy; prepare estimates of resource requirements; define and communicate expectations for quality outcomes and process standards; provide process updates and proposals to senior leadership; and lead and manage the execution plan.
- Manage fiscal and day-to-day work activity of Active and COBRA plans by creating, tracking, monitoring, and communicating analytical reports to senior leadership to include trends, forecasting, and budget management; managing profit and loss (P&L); tracking, monitoring, and reporting accuracy of customer interactions and financial transactions; and reviewing, researching, and maintaining audit and compliance control for the plans, to eliminate/prevent financial risk and penalties to plans and to the Company.
- Develop and execute critical customer service processes to accomplish strategic objectives by collaborating with key organizational members internally and externally, educating and providing direction to associates, dependents, providers of service, third-party administrators (TPAs), and other customers on plan guidelines and procedures.
- Analyze current benefit programs, research best practices, determine areas for improvement related to better utilization/cost effectiveness, and recommend design, budget, and implementation strategy of additional benefit programs to Executive Management.
- Analyze legislative/judicial rulings relating to benefits to determine impact on company plans; provide Executive Management with information on areas requiring review, including implications and possible company response; provide guidance to company management and staff on benefits issues, procedures and policy/plan interpretation. Work with associates, TPAs, and insurance carriers to handle complex, escalated employee benefit issues.
Preferred Experience:
- Ten years of experience in benefits, 5-year management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources, or equivalent experience
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) preferred
- Strong analytical skills required. Must be extremely detail oriented.
- Advanced Excel user. Programming skills preferred (Ceridian, PeopleSoft, etc.)
- Strong communications skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of associates
- Familiarity with instructional design including, but not limited to the ADDIE model
