Overview:
 
  • Proven technical executive leadership and skills in creating, leading and implementing Enterprise Information and Data Management architecture. This includes setting direction, driving change in information/data technologies that support the complete spectrum of enterprise business needs such as:- Deep analytics and data mining- Traditional data warehousing- Big data- Transactional systems and associated reporting and visualization- Business event processing, monitoring and decision making- Appropriate consistency, data integrity, and MDM for enterprise information- Geographic scaling and stability for all aspects.
  • Key technology Background:- Logical and physical data modeling- Experience Database administration tasks for one or more of the following database management systems: Oracle, DB2-ZOS, DB2-LUW, SQL Server, Teradata, NOSQL.
  • Roles and responsibilities include installation and administration of the database stack, providing technical guidance and playing a lead role in implementation of stable and performing databases for Infrastructure and Field Services customers.
  • Responsibilities also include training and leading the team and projects from a technical aspect, as well as help with the interviewing and technical evaluation of new candidates that may join the team.
 
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Delivers results by leading strategic direction for implementing enterprise information and data management architecture. Effectively plans, organizes, prioritizes staff assignments, and continually analyzes workload.
  • Drives and manages change. Sets priorities based on thorough understanding of business initiatives; monitors progress of assignments, redistributing resources where appropriate.
  • Develops, directs, and executes strategic plans in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders. Ability to build and establish solid working relationships by providing timely accurate and high quality information to peers, subordinates, upper management and/or customers.
  • Advises Director Information and Data Management Architecture on strategic plans and improvements to systems and processes. Partners with business units to develop and execute business vision and strategic plan.
  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to identify, recommend, and implement improvements to systems and processes. Ensures compliance with existing processes and standards.
  • Maintains, builds, and influences the business unit Information and Data Management leads to ensure projects, applications, and enterprise Information and Data Management goals are being achieved.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Skills Summary:
  • Strong Data and Information modeling skills.
  • Experience driving data architecture for large enterprise scale projects and applications.
  • Experience with Enterprise Data Strategy, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Big Data (Hadoop), Teradata, ETL, Data Stage and working as a Data Architect Consultant.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Big-Data technologies.
  • Experience with data science and statistical/machine learning preferred.
  • Generally 5-8 years of experience in database architecture design and development.
  • Significant, successful and proven Information Technology and/or Retail industry experience.
  • Demonstrates an advanced functional understanding of the retail processes, their supporting applications and their inter-relationships with other department suites of systems.
  • Persists in the face of obstacles, negotiates persuasively, and influences and shapes the decisions of others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong collaborative partnerships across the functional lines and at many levels within MST.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Professional demeanor and approach to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage change effectively and maintain a flexible management response to changing circumstances and customer needs.
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate and develop associates.
  • Should be able to model professional management skills and behaviors.
  • Lotus Notes, Windows 7, Oracle, DB2-ZOS, DB2-LUW, SQLServer, Teradata, NOSQL.
  • Computer Science Degree preferred.
