Overview:
- Under general direction, designs, implements and maintains complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, guidelines and statistical methods. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures and integration of systems through Database design.
- Proficient on multiple database platforms.
- Provides guidance/training for less experienced Database Analysts.
- Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of Database management.
Skills Summary:
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated proficiency in administering SQL Server Database Systems in a “High Availability” environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the installation and administration of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
- Strong SQL Server performance tuning experience.
- Experience in database tuning and project support.
- Experience with DR planning, DB backup, restore and recovery.
- Experience with Windows scripting.
- Experience in hardware sizing, and capacity planning.
- Experience in the planning and deployment of high-availability database environments (Clustering, Mirroring, Log-shipping)
- Demonstrated time managements and multi-tasking ability.
- Strong ITIL foundation, Continual Service Improvement and Total Quality Management experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders as well as technical resources.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 5-7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good analytical skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent debugging skills relating to database performance and errors on multi-platforms.
- Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads.
Desired Skills:
- TSQL experience
- Powershell scripting
- Working knowledge of basic infrastructure principles: IIS, Active Directory, Networking, DNS, Load Balancers, RDP, Batch Scripting, FTP.
- Database security skills to design controls and monitoring capabilities for user access.

- Proficient on multiple database platforms.
- Designs, implements and maintains complex databases that achieve the objective; are well designed, efficient and conform to standards.
- Designs, implements and maintains databases with regard to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, guidelines and statistical methods.
- Maintains database dictionaries.
- Provides overall monitoring of standards and procedures and integration of systems through Database design.
- Provides guidance/training for less experienced Database analysts.
- Delivers assignments by established deadlines.
- Keeps management well-informed on a timely basis of progress, status and/or concerns for each assignment.
- Able to act as lead Database Analyst on projects.
- Participates in the ‘on-call’ rotation.
