Key Responsibilities
Protective Coatings Development Chemist
 
PPG Protective and Marine Coatings is seeking a self-motivated development chemist to enhance the product development/business support team located at our East Point, GA (Atlanta area) development laboratory. The ideal candidate will have special knowledge and skills related to protective and marine coatings technologies including: epoxy coatings (solvent based and water based), polyurethane coatings, alkyd and acrylic latex coatings, and other relevant chemistries.
 
Primary responsibilities will include new product development, maintenance of existing products, and other business support activities. Ideal candidates will have a BS degree in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline and 5 years of coatings formulating experience. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.   The candidate must have familiarity with various ASTM/ISO test methods and airless/air spray coating application techniques.
 
Experience and Education
 Ideal candidates will have a BS degree in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline and 5 years of coatings formulating experience.
