The convergence traditional Marketing techniques and advanced analytics is creating a unique opportunity within AT&T Mobility Marketing.  You will partner with the AT&T Marketing and Network organizations to optimize the AT&T network product. You will analyze, forecast and report subscriber usage activity, and the impact of new marketing initiatives, technologies and applications on usage patterns.  Marketing programs will be refined based upon such analysis, and insights and forecasts will be shared with the Network, Finance, and Strategy organizations and Senior Leadership.
 
In this role, you will apply expert skills in the use of predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and identify the right data to be analyzed from internal and external sources to explain or predict behavior and/or solve a variety of business problems within the Mobility Marketing domain.  You will leverage your advanced analytical capabilities to fully exploit currently available and emerging (e.g. Big Data) resources in order to realize network usage forecasting and network performance tracking objectives.  There will be a particular emphasis on the dissemination and communication of complex information to internal stakeholders.  This role will influence downstream decision processes involving Network's multi-billion capital budget.
 
The successful candidate will:
  • Structure and conduct analyses of Marketing initiatives and new technologies/applications to assess wireless network impact
  • Develop forecasting and predictive models to analyze mobile data usage by applying a broad array of statistical methods ranging from traditional to emerging within the Big Data space
  • Perform statistical and time series analyses with existing data sets using statistical packages (Excel, SAS, R, etc.)
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data to identify causal relationships, trigger points and ultimately make predictions about mobile data usage dynamics
  • Evaluate and implement software required for efficiently accessing, transforming and summarizing data
  • Employ state-of-the-art visualization tools and techniques to translate complex data into actionable insights
 
Required
  • 5 years related experience in advanced analytics, market research, research methods, forecasting or related quantitative field
  • 5 years demonstrated quantitative/analytical experience in a Marketing or Finance role
  • Expert level experience with data intensive activities:  profiling, visualization, architecture, database design and management, ETL scripting and automation, etc.
  • Intermediate level experience with SQL, SAS, R, UNIX shell scripting, Python, etc.
  • Fluent with a variety of analytical tools:  Excel, PowerPivot, Power View, SAS suite of analytical tools, etc.
  • Experience in visually displaying quantitative information:  dashboard/portal frameworks, D3.js, modern web development, interactive media, and graphic design
  • Ability to distill and communicate findings into concise language and draw fact-based conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to articulate needs and influence changes in multiple external and internal groups, through the use of data-driven analyses
Desired
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, math, statistics, economics or similar
  • 5 years related experience in advanced analytics, big data, relational database structures, research methods, sampling techniques, and system testing
  • Experience with Tableau, Microstrategy, SharePoint
  • Exposure to No-SQL platforms (graph databases, etc.) and "full-stack" development experience
  • Experience in wireless services, data, and/or high tech industry
