Assistant/Associate Professor - OT Physical Dysfunction

This is a 10-month, assistant or associate professor tenure track position depending on qualifications. The position would include teaching primarily physical dysfunction clinical intervention coursework.

We provide an excellent opportunity to teach and grow professionally in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Emphasis of the program is teaching in an innovative occupational therapy program. The new faculty will have the opportunity to work with supportive and experienced faculty and administration in a well-established OT program. Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction in Occupational Therapy curriculum
  • Participate in evaluation and development of program curriculum
  • Participate in curricular and program assessment
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and advising
  • Contribute to the College and community through participation in College functions, community activities, and committee service
  • Coordinating and teaching the OT curriculum physical dysfunction course sequence
  • Assisting with advising students
  • Assisting with graduate student project development and advising
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in a team process for projects that require data analysis for supporting best practices in health care delivery.
  • Maintain &/or develop knowledge that supports evidence based clinical practice.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary trainings and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Doctoral degree in OT or relevant field preferred. MS degree applicants will be considered with the understanding of commitment to timely pursuit of an OTD or advanced Doctorate in a related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in OT practice treating clients with physical dysfunctions.
  3. Candidates must be eligible for OT licensure in New York, and be NBCOT certified.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  5. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
  6. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
  7. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  8. Ability to exercise discretion and professional judgment. Embody and demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality at all times.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of boxes, supplies, etc., generally less than 30lbs.
  • Sit, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Some evening and weekend hours required
