PPG Architectural Coatings is a respected leader in the paint industry. A business unit of PPG, the world's leading coatings and specialty Products Company, we manufacture and sell our products through home centers, independent dealers, and through a network of company-owned stores across North America.
 
PPG is currently seeking a Production Manager for our East Point, GA manufacturing facility.  The Production Manager manages the daily two-shift, five-day-a-week, manufacturing floor activities of the Architectural Coatings latex & solvent base paint plant.
 
As a Production Manager you will... 
  • Drive continuous improvement in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) by ensuring adherence to all safe work practices and PPG standards and policies.  Promote safe work behavior by employees by example and through engagement.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with East Point produced products.
  • Manage all production, shipping, & waste/rework functions to satisfy the financial objectives of the SBU.  Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts to improve consistency, reduce cycle time, lower total production costs, and eliminate waste.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement in all aspects of manufacturing including quality, schedule adherence, customer service, cost optimization, reliability, 5S, safety, etc.
  • Cultivate strong, productive work relationships and actively participate with other members of the East Point Leadership Team to strengthen the overall effectiveness of the Plant’s manufacturing operation.
  • Develop departmental personnel through effective coaching.
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with Union Leadership.
  • Continually oversee and improve new hire training.
  • Monitor the health of the Plant’s new SAP enterprise system and drive improvement as needed.

What you will bring to the team..

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing and supervision experience. 
  • Union experience is preferred.
  • SAP, ISO-9001 and Process Safety Management experience is preferred.
