The primary role of the Sales Analyst – Home Depot Channel is to utilize knowledge assets including POS and shipment data, tint data, financial information, and other sources of brand and category data to generate business intelligence.  The business intelligence may relate to business performance, new opportunities, category trends and consumer behavior. The Sales Analyst must have the skills necessary to extract insights, assess their implications to the PPG business at The Home Depot, and communicate analyses to the THD Sales, Marketing and Account teams.  The successful candidate will not only be able to act against assigned priorities, but will also act proactively based on anticipated needs and observations of emerging issues.
The Sales Analyst will also own responsibilities related to the integration of PPG brands and products into The Home Depot’s Item Data Management System (IDM).  IDM is THD’s central database for SKU information.   Uploading and maintaining SKU information in IDM is required in order for PPG to sell and market our products in THD stores and through THD.com.   They will be required to interact with the IDM team at The Home Depot, all members of the business line, and other cross functional resources to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time. 
Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on needs of the business.  These may include various Sales projects, assignment to project teams, ownership of various reporting needs, assistance with budgeting and other financial-related tasks, etc.

 

Requirements:
 
Database management skills:  Experience with database systems such as Cognos, and ability to learn new systems quickly. 
  • Ability to work cross functionally to gather, organize, and maintain an online database of content.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel enabling ability for mass manipulation of data and uploads into the Home Depot IDM system. 
  • Action oriented with acumen for problem solving trouble tickets and vendor database challenges as they arise.
 
Analytical Ability:  Demonstrated ability to analyze data, extract insights, draw conclusions and create reports.
 
Project Management Skills:  Project management experience a/o organizational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritize actions and deliver against commitments.
 
Sales a/o Business Acumen:  Possesses business a/o Sales instincts to understand the implications of trends observed in data and translate data into recommendations and action plans.  The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the digital space and the role it plays in business. 
 
Communication Skills:  Strong communication skills to effectively synthesize information and in both written and oral formats.
 
Detailed Orientation:   A strong attention to detail is required.  Due to the repetitive nature of some tasks, a willingness and ability to manage all levels of tasks (menial/administrative to advanced), is required.
 
  • 2-3 years general business and/or sales experience and Bachelor’s degree in business or related function are required. 
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient experience with data entry systems.
